Blue Mountain Beach 2011

This past week Blake and I went with his family to Blue Mountain Beach in Florida. We had so much fun! Every day we woke up and went straight to the beach. We spent all day outside in the sand and in the water. The seaweed was really bad, but we still made the most of it. I consider myself very luck to have been able to spend the week with Blake's family. I made some memories that I will keep forever. It was so nice to relax each day on the beach. We relaxed, soaked up the sun, shopped, and ate very yummy food. It was the perfect vacation.

Hanging out under the beach umbrella
We had so much fun in the blow up boat!

Dragging me into the water!
Now carrying me out!
He flipped! Whoops! Didn't tell him about the waves coming.

We had so much fun with this little guy. We fall in love with him more each day!

Austin loved the water!

Update!

So once again, I am slacking in the blogging department. Once I start back school, its like I forget I even have a blog because I get so busy. I am writing this post to fill everyone in on what has been going on these last couple of weeks and for the weeks to come. I am currently taking a sociology class that has been rather time consuming but still managing to have lots of fun on the weekends!

The first week of june was kinda hectic for me and thats probably why I have been slacking so much! The Wednesday before Blake's birthday we sent Hunt to obedience/hunting school. It is past Cartersville, so it is a pretty good drive when there is traffic. We dropped him off and tears quickly filled my eyes. I know Hunt is technically Blake's dog... but we both consider it our dog. Hunt has grown to be one of my own I feel like and I miss him already. Three months is just way to long to not have your puppy around. It is definitely a long time, but when he comes back he will be so well-mannered and able to hunt with Blake during hunting season. We are allowed to visit Hunt whenever we want, but we are waiting for a couple of weeks so we can really see what he has learned. We call the trainer often and he always expresses how great Hunt is doing and how quickly he is learning. I am so grateful that Brian (the trainer) calls and sends pictures. It definitely makes the whole experience easier. We are looking forward to visiting Hunt one day soon!

June 4th was Blake's 20th birthday and it was a very special weekend for all of us. Friday we went to the Dillard House for dinner and ate with his entire family. It was my first Dillard House experience, and boy was it yummy! After dinner, we headed up to the lake for a fun filled weekend celebrating Blake's birthday :)
I knew the second we left the trainers that Blake already missed Hunt. Once you get so close to a pet they are hard to leave every time. Me being the cheesy person I am,  I decided to make a card and act like it was from hunt. I explained that Hunt was having a great time at school and couldn't wait to see Blake again. I thought Blake would express how stupid I was, but deep down I figured he would appreciate it. I was wrong! He loved it from the very first second, and told me it was his favorite thing he received on his birthday. The little things are the ones that always make the biggest smiles
This is the cake I made Blake. I decided to get out the cake decorating tools and get a little artsy. I had fun baking... and the cake was delicious!

Reading the card from Hunt. I love this picture.. you can really see how happy I get when I see him happy
The gifts from Hunt. The picture are the left is the card I made from Hunt. A hunting-inspired picture frame of Hunt to put in Blake's new bedroom. Blake has wanted this Master's hat since the day we got it back in April. He had to wait though!

Boat Ride!

Tomorrow, Blake is having oral surgery on his tooth from a mishap many years ago. I pray that God holds Blake's hand throughout his surgery tomorrow and gives him strength for an easy and pain free surgery. I will be right next to Blake tomorrow afternoon to give him comfort and support. Although I hate that it has to be on these terms, I am ecstatic to see my Blakey tomorrow. Everyone please keep Blake in your prayers as he gets put to sleep tomorrow during surgery.

The next couple of weekends are very busy for us, but we are definitely looking forward to them! This weekend my family, Blake, and I are packing up and going to Tennessee for one of my cousins wedding. The weekend of the fourth, Blake and I are going to switch off going to each other's lake house. We are splitting up the weekend. Then its smooth sailing from there... nothing but the BEACH! I am so excited to be able to spend two weeks at the beach with Blake this year. I am so incredibly luck and cannot wait to make many new memories with Blake, The Daltons, and The Corleys.

Antiques Galore!

Today My mom, Vicki, Granny, and I took a day trip up to Helen, Georgia. We decided to go at our own pace and stop at every little antique store we wanted to since my dad has never been the one to stop and let us shop! I have been so interested in antiques recently and couldn't wait to see what I could find! We stopped at MANY antique stores, the Habersham Winery, and some other little shops by the river in Helen. It was such a fun day and I found some really neat stuff!

My new obsession is mason jars so I was on a hunt for some cool looking antique ones. I came across 2 really cool ones in the first store... then the second I found two huge bins full for 25 cents each!! I was in heaven :) My real hunt for the day was the blue mason jar with the number 13 on the bottom. The ones with 13 are extremely rare because most people who had them destroyed them. The 13 number mason jar was known for carrying moon shine and anyone with a 13 jar was possibly going to be taken to jail by the Fed's back in the day. The last and final antique store we pulled into I walk around and around and around... and in the back corner of the top floor of this house I see a blue mason jar. I run over pick it up and sure enough its a 13!!!!! I started saying omg omg omg omg and scared the lady next to me half to death. Not only was it a 13 it had a top! Most mason jars don't come with the tops anymore so its rare when you find them! It was definitely my lucky find of the day!

My number 13!!!

My adorable Mason Jar Salt & Pepper Shakers

My other magnificent find of the day that I completely adore! I don't have a house but one day when I do this will definitely be in it :) It is an antique sterling silver platter but the inside is now a chalk board!
This is from the Habersham Winery... Now I have a place to put all the wine bottle corks! So cute :) It is shaped like a wine barrel.

Happy Birthday to My Special Someone

I am writing this blog post to express my gratitude and appreciation for the most amazing man in the world. Blake has constantly given me strength, laughs, hugs, kisses, and a shoulder to lean on each and every day. He is one of my best friends and I feel so thankful to have him in my life. I enjoy each day we spend together and am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to have found such an amazing person. Blake is one of the most dedicated people I have ever met and he inspires me to be a better person in many ways. I admire Blake and cannot wait to see what the future holds for our relationship. I am wishing Blake a very happy birthday. May God bless you with another year and many more years of love, happiness, and prosperity.

This weekend we plan on celebrating and relaxing now that finals are over. Friday Blake, his family, and I are going to be eating dinner at the infamous Dillard House. It is somewhere I have always wanted to go and I cannot wait to celebrate with everyone. After dinner, we will be heading up to Lake Burton for the weekend for some fun in the sun celebrating a special 20th birthday. I cannot wait!

Happy birthday babe!

Memorial Day weekend!

I couldn't wait for this weekend for so long because it was the weekend I was able to relax for a couple of days before having to bust it hard for finals. Blake and I have spent almost every waking moment studying and have barely had any time together to just have some fun. The weather was absolutely beautiful and I was so glad I got to spend it at the lake. We were able to swim, get sun, ride on the boat, look at all the pretty houses, and just enjoy each others company. I cannot remember a time I didn't spend memorial day at the lake with my family. Although this year I was still at the lake I was with my second family. The Dalton's are so much fun to be around and I thank God for blessing me with a family that is so amazing. I had the best weekend with them. I have a final on Tuesday and Wednesday and then we are off to take Hunt to obedience school for three months :( We will miss the little guy but needless to say I was able to do another photoshoot with him... and this weekend he jumped in the water all by him self for the very first time!! Being the excellent puppy mom I am, I was able to capture this moment on camera! Blake was nominated for most outstanding student at Gainesville State College which is a huge honor. Even if he doesn't win the award being nominated is just as good in my book! Blake has worked very hard for 2 years and his hard work and dedication definitely has payed off. Once we drop Hunt off at school we will be celebrating Blake's 20th birthday! Blake and I's relationship has grown so deeply and I am so glad that we are still together after a year now. I cannot wait to celebrate Blake's birthday with him and his family. I am looking forward to another weekend at the lake with the people I love. Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial day weekend. Best wishes for the week ahead.

xoxo Lauren

Busy Busy!

Life has been sorta crazy busy lately, but super fun none the less. Between finishing up spring semester and having something planned every saturday night has made me lose track of my blogging. I have spent the past couple of weekends with some amazing people celebrating some very special events. Between a 1 year old birthday party, my cousin Kara's wedding, and the Harbor Light Marina party we have had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures to show the amount of fun we had celebrating these special events with special people!
