My Grandmother had surgery this past Thursday to remove a tumor off of her pancreas. We were all very scared about her surgery, but we knew it was in God's hands. We prayed and prayed and we prepared for the worst because the doctor told us all of the worst possibilities. He told us that with her age, that it is likely that a blood transfusion, feeding tubes, and drainage tubes were possible. We prayed every minute we had for God to hold her hand through the surgery. While sitting in the waiting room, the assistant came in and said "Mitchell family, the doctor will speak to you in consulting room number three." My heart sank, because this was it. We were finally about to find out what we had been worrying about for the last 6 hours. We decided it was best for my Mom and her two brothers to go back and speak with the doctor. They came out with nothing but good news. The cancer had not spread, no blood transfusions, no drainage or feeding tubes, and she was not going to go into ICU. We were so relieved. If that doesn't show you that God is always by you with enough prayers.. I don't know what does.
The first couple of days she was in and out of it sleeping most of the day. She enjoyed her pain button very very much :) By the 3rd day after surgery they had her up walking a bit. She is feeling much better thanks to everyone's prayers. We will get the pathology reports back in a couple of days to figure out how bad the cancer is. We will then figure out treatments from there. For all of you who prayed... I cannot thank you enough. Yall made this possible. Thank you for thinking of our family through this time... please continue to pray for her during this time because she has a long road of treatments and recovery ahead.
Thank you and love each and every one of yall. May God bless each and every person who has helped my family through this time!
